When I say I had an absolute BLAST capturing Kristen + Brittney’s New Hampshire engagement photos, I am not exaggerating in the least! It was such a pleasure to get to know them, and as soon as this sunrise engagement session wrapped up I rushed home to jump into editing their photos! This was by far one of my favorite couples' sessions, and I’m so excited to share their photos today.
Sunrise Engagement Photos in New Hampshire’s White Mountains
Many of my couples are local residents of New England, however, Kristen + Brittney traveled all the way from Louisiana for this visit! They had planned a nice New England fall getaway and knew they wanted to capture some engagement photos while they were visiting. Their trip started in Acadia National Park (one of Maine’s most beautiful locations!), and next, they came to the White Mountains. Finally, they headed to Boston before their departure back south.
K + B knew that the White Mountains region was going to be where they wanted their engagement photos taken. Prior to the shoot, we chatted about their vision and I was able to provide location recommendations to bring their dream engagement picture shoot to life! We started at sunrise on Chocorua Lake in Tamworth, NH. We then headed all the way up to Crawford Notch for a little waterfall adventure! We had the best time running around together, climbing rocks barefoot, and capturing the most beautiful set of engagement photos. I hope K + B will treasure them forever!
Why I Love the White Mountains for New Hampshire Engagement Photos
It’s no secret that the White Mountains are my favorite region in New Hampshire. Here are some reasons why I love it there, especially for engagement photos!
There’s so Much to Explore
I’ve spent my whole life exploring the White Mountains, and have so many hidden gems that I love to visit. I also love to share them with my couples! We can get photos at unique locations that are off the beaten path (and, away from the crowds). From mountain views to waterfalls to hikes for all skill levels, we can explore nature and capture gorgeous photos along the way. And, if hiking isn’t your thing, we can even take a drive along the famous Kancamagus Highway, stopping at all of the scenic lookouts along the way.

Every Season is Beautiful
No matter the time of year you choose to visit the White Mountains, you can’t go wrong. Summer and fall are absolutely gorgeous (though if you’re visiting during fall foliage season be sure to plan ahead). In the winter there are endless opportunities for outdoor activities, such as skiing & snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. Or just generally exploring, as I got to do with Taylor and Ken during their snowy Franconia Notch engagement session!
And finally, my favorite season of all in the Whites - the spring! This is when the wildflowers are in full bloom, and they are a spectacular sight. I’ve had the pleasure of capturing multiple engagement photo sessions here during wildflower season, including Lucas + Quinn, and Teresé and José.
You Can Spend the Weekend
When you have engagement photos taken in the White Mountains, you can make it a whole weekend! There is so much to do here. You could spend the evening after your session in a cozy cabin, or head to North Conway for shopping, great food, and a stop at a local brewery. I highly recommend the trip!
