If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you probably know that I LOVE the White Mountains. I especially love it when my couples choose to get married there! There’s just so much natural beauty everywhere, in every season. So I’m excited to share more about an amazing White Mountain wedding venue that I’ve recently fallen in love with: The Preserve at Chocorua.

If you’re looking for a wedding venue set in the Whites, The Preserve is the perfect location to host your celebration. So in this post, I’m covering everything you need to know about weddings there 😊

Why I Love Weddings at The Preserve at Chocorua

The Setting

Of course the number one reason I love The Preserve at Chocorua is the setting. Located in Tamworth, NH, The Preserve is a beautiful property that sits right in the mountains and is incredibly peaceful and idyllic.

Weekend-Long Celebrations

The Preserve is a unique venue for the area in that they have lots of accommodations on-site for your guests. This allows you to host a weekend-long celebration– meaning lots more time to spend with those you love the most! It also makes The Preserve a great option for a destination wedding in the Whites.

The accommodations include the Farmhouse with 13 bedrooms, five different cottages, each sleeping anywhere from 4-10 guests, and the Carriage House, which has four bedrooms as well as a kitchen, living room, and large deck. The Carriage House is a great location for your bridal party to stay and for getting ready.

A Variety of Settings & Accommodating Staff

The property features several different settings for each portion of your event. Their barn is modeled after the original structure that was on the property and is a perfect space for your reception. And the permanent Sperry tent also makes for a beautiful location for your reception during the warmer months.

They also have a pavilion space that’s perfect for a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, or morning-after brunch. There is so much variety throughout the entire property!

The staff at The Preserve is wonderful as well and will help you plan your dream White Mountain wedding.

Venue Details

Here are some of the important details that you need to know about a wedding at The Preserve:

Ceremony Locations

Just like with the variety of settings for your reception, you have some beautiful options to choose from for your ceremony as well.

I have seen ceremonies take place under the Sperry tent or outdoors with the mountains as a backdrop. You can also choose to have your ceremony in front of the Farmhouse, which gives such a quintessential New England feel to the moment and would be especially cute in the fall.

Getting Ready & The Bridal Suite

The bridal suite at The Preserve is absolutely perfect. I always tell my couples to look for getting-ready spaces with lots of natural light, and the bridal suite has just that! It’s also tastefully decorated with so many beautiful touches that it makes a gorgeous backdrop for your getting-ready photos.

The Carriage House, also on the property (and mentioned above), is a great getting-ready space for you and your wedding party as well.

For this wedding, the bride opted to get ready in the bridal suite, while the groom got ready in the Carriage House. There are lots of historic architectural details in the Carriage House, as well as some great natural light. So again, it makes a beautiful backdrop for your photos of those fun early-in-the-day moments with your wedding party!

Wedding Photos at The Preserve at Chocorua

As I mentioned, my favorite thing about The Preserve is the beautiful setting of the property. There are SO many picturesque spots throughout the property for your photos on your wedding day.

There is also a very scenic location just down the road that offers mountain and lake views. It’s not more than a two-minute drive at most, so it’s a great location to sneak away for a few photos on your day! If you are looking for mountain photos on your wedding day, you should definitely consider this scenic location for portraits. It’s gorgeous!

I recently photographed this wedding at The Preserve, and there were so many beautiful moments throughout their day.

Their day started out beautifully and the bride and groom shared an emotional first-touch before the ceremony.

Their ceremony took place outdoors under the Sperry tent, and they even had their dogs present!

Their reception took place inside the barn, and the decor that they chose fit the rustic setting perfectly. And the food was amazing! Huge shoutout to Scarlet Fire BBQ who catered the reception.

We were able to sneak outside for some sunset photos and enjoy the property for a few minutes. And of course, everyone danced the night away and had a blast!
