One of the things I love most about being a photographer in this state is that there really is no shortage of stunning backdrops to work with. A New Hampshire photoshoot can look so many different ways depending on the time of year and where you go, and that’s exactly why I love living here!
Today I’m sharing a roundup of some of my favorite spots across New Hampshire to help inspire your session. Whether you’re planning your engagement photos, a family session, or something else, these locations are all favorites of mine!
The Best New Hampshire Photoshoot Locations
The White Mountains
If you're dreaming of beautiful mountain scenery, you can’t beat the White Mountains region. If you know me, you know that I LOVE the Whites!
Franconia Notch and Crawford Notch are stunning for almost any season, with gorgeous views and incredible foliage in the fall.
North Conway and Lincoln are also wonderful options with that classic mountain charm as a backdrop.
The New Hampshire Seacoast
If a coastal scene is more your vibe, the seacoast area has so much to offer. Rye Harbor, Wallis Sands Beach, and Jenness Beach are all beautiful for relaxed beach sessions with the ocean as your backdrop.
Or if you’d like more of a charming coastal town feel, Portsmouth is definitely the way to go. There is so much historic architecture to explore, gorgeous gardens and parks (especially in the summer!), and it has a bit of a small-city vibe while still being right on the water here in NH.
Then, a bit more inland but still in the seacoast area, Wagon Hill Farm in Durham is a great hidden gem that has beautiful scenery in every season. It’s a nice location for family sessions or sessions with your pet.
Central New Hampshire
Central New Hampshire is also full of variety in scenery and is really conveniently located.
Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown has some great wooded trails, as well as lake and distant mountain views.
Henniker, NH, has a great field that I love, parks, and a covered bridge that is so quintessential New England. I love taking my clients for photoshoots here!
Concord is another location that’s really easy to get to, and there are multiple great parks and walking trails that work beautifully for all kinds of sessions.
And lastly, another hidden gem–Gilmanton, NH is a cute little town with some beautiful open fields with mountain views in the distance.

The Lakes Region
A favorite for many people, the Lakes Region is a dream for New Hampshire photoshoots. Especially in the warmer months!
The docks in Meredith offer that classic New England lakeside feel and are super romantic during golden hour.
Chocorua Lake is a great location for lakeside photos with views of Mt. Chocorua in the background.
And Cate Park in Wolfeboro is a charming waterfront location with classic New England vacation vibes. Did you know that Wolfboro is the oldest summer resort town in the US?? It’s super charming and a great spot for a photo session any time of year!
Southern New Hampshire
Southern NH has some wonderful options too, especially for couples and families looking for something a little closer to home.
Frye Field in Wilton is a beautiful open field with mountains off in the distance.
Keene, NH, also has several nice parks and walkable areas with great character. If you’re there in October, you might even catch some of their famous pumpkin fest!
And Benson Park in Hudson is a nice location with some walking trails, beautiful scenery, especially in the fall, and lots to explore. There’s a great playground there, too, so it would be a fun location for a family session.
