I absolutely loved photographing Olivia and Matt’s Owl’s Nest Resort wedding, and I’m so excited to share it today! It was such a sweet day. These two are both super close with their families, so their day felt really intimate despite being a full room of guests. There was so much love, and everyone had an amazing time!
Olivia & Matt's Owls Nest Resort Wedding Day
Olivia and Matt’s wedding took place on a beautiful early June day, and we were lucky to have some nice weather. It was the kind of wedding day that every couple dreams about when they book a summer wedding in New Hampshire. It was perfect – 70-something degrees, a light breeze, and just the right amount of sunshine. They were able to have an outdoor wedding ceremony and cocktail hour outside on the patio with gorgeous mountain views all around.
Cocktail hour was so fun. They had a classy champagne coupe version of beer pong set up for guests to pass by and take a turn at, which was such a great touch. Everyone loved it! Their wedding party also was a blast, and they brought great energy to the celebration all day.
Guests were treated to a lovely dinner followed by some sweet, heartfelt speeches, and then everyone hit the dance floor and had an absolute blast! And of course I had to sneak Olivia and Matt outside during golden hour for some portraits of just the two of them. The sun was setting right behind the mountains, so it was extra beautiful! This was such a romantic few minutes for the two of them to really soak in the moment together.
Owl’s Nest Resort Weddings at the Sunset Pavilion
The Owls Nest Resort is located in Thornton, NH, right in the White Mountains, and it is such a gorgeous property. They have several venue spaces throughout the property where you can have your ceremony and reception, and Olivia and Matt opted to hold their reception in the Sunset Pavilion. This is one of my favorite spaces to photograph, because it blends a rustic mountain feel with clean, modern design, and the panoramic windows all around the space can be opened up to give it an open-air feel when the weather is nice. The views are absolutely incredible, too!
Ceremonies there typically take place on the stone patio outside with Franconia Notch as the backdrop, which is exactly what Olive and Matt did. The Sunset Pavilion can accommodate up to 180 guests, and the Owl’s Nest staff is always so wonderful and professional to work with. I always look forward to photographing weddings here, it’s one of my all-time favorite venues! You can learn more about the resort and all of their venue spaces in this post.
