It is officially lupine season here in the White Mountains, and I’m SO excited to share this wildflower proposal today!! Cody popped the question in the middle of the most stunning lupine field in Sugar Hill, NH, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect moment.
A Wildflower Proposal in the Sugar Hill Lupines
I actually first met Kerstyn and Cody during an adventure photo session last summer. They were so connected that I just assumed they were already engaged! But then when I asked them, they let me know that they were not yet engaged, but Kerstyn mentioned that she hoped it would be their turn soon.
Fast forward to this year, and Kerstyn reached out for a lupine couples session with me. I look forward to photo sessions in the lupine fields all year - they are so magical!
But a few weeks before the session, Cody secretly asked me if I would be willing to capture him proposing during the session - and of course I was up for it!! I was getting so excited.
The day of their planned shoot, it was cloudy and rainy all day. But then the sky opened up just before our time together, and the sun was shining down for one of the most beautiful proposals I’ve ever had the honor of photographing! Cody got down on one knee and surprised Kerstyn - and her reaction was so genuine, happy, and full of love. It was an incredible moment!!
After that, we spent the rest of our time hanging out in the lupine field and taking photos. Cody and Kerstyn were both completely on cloud nine. It was so much fun!
I’m so excited for these two, and can’t wait to see what the future brings! Congratulations, Cody + Kerstyn!
Lupine Photos
Here in New Hampshire, the Lupine fields are in full bloom in June. Lupines are purple and pink wildflowers that grow all across New England, but they are particularly concentrated in a few towns just north of the NH White Mountains (Sugar Hill and Franconia). They are a spectacular sight to see - if you haven’t had a chance to see them in person when they are in full bloom, you must make a trip up! I absolutely adore them and LOVE taking Lupine photos.
