Being a New Hampshire photographer, I definitely have a soft spot for fall weddings. And Julia and Jacob's Hyla Brook Estate wedding in Derry was a perfect example of a gorgeous one! It was such a sweet day, so I’m really excited to share all the details and their images in this post.

Julia + Jacob's Hyla Brook Estate Wedding

Julia and Jacob are high school sweethearts, and they were genuinely so excited to be getting married. Both of them are incredibly close with their families, so you could feel that warmth all around them all day.

The day began with them each getting ready on site at the venue. Julia was in the bridal suite upstairs, and Jacob was in the secondary suite (yes, you read that right–Hyla Brook Estate has TWO getting ready suites, and the second one is actually bigger than a closet! 😅).

This is a rare find, and one of the many reasons why I love this venue so much. Having two dedicated getting-ready spaces at the venue makes the morning so smooth and convenient for everyone!

Julia and Jacob wanted to share private vows before the ceremony, but they didn’t want to do a first look. They preferred to save that moment for the ceremony itself. So we were able to do this on the bridal suite balcony with a wall between them! It was a meaningful way to have a quiet, present moment together before all the excitement began, while still honoring their wishes for the first look.

Their ceremony took place on the outdoor deck, and the weather could not have been more perfect. We were lucky to have such great weather in November, and being just before golden hour, the lighting was incredible!

Julia's godmother officiated, and Jacob's dad led a prayer during the ceremony, which were two personal touches that made the ceremony feel extra special.

The deck was decorated with a stunning baby’s breath ceremony arch, and then that baby’s breath and white rose theme carried into the reception space, where the tables were beautifully decorated with the same florals. It was all so cohesive, modern yet classic, and so pretty!

Golden Hour Portraits

One of my favorite things about November weddings at Hyla Brook Estate is the light. Since the venue is in Derry rather than up in the mountains, we're not fighting the cold (or the early sunset!) the way we might elsewhere, and the lighting in late fall is absolutely gorgeous.

We took J + J’s newlywed portraits right during golden hour after the ceremony, and they were so dreamy. We headed down to the stone wall and had some fun and playful moments in the driveway, too. They were so relaxed and happy together, which made for the kind of natural, joyful images that they’ll treasure forever!

The reception that followed was just as wonderful as the ceremony. They had a great dinner, and then the DJ kept the dance party going all night. Everyone had such a blast!
