I had the honor of photographing Alexis and Drew’s wedding recently at the new venue, Hyla Brook Estate, and I completely fell in love with it! If you’re looking for a great wedding venue in Southern New Hampshire, I definitely recommend checking out Hyla Brook Estate.

I this post, I’m sharing everything I love about this new venue, as well as some gorgeous details from Alexis and Drew’s day to inspire you in your planning!

4 Reasons to Love Hyla Brook Estate Weddings

Hyla Brook Estate was so well built, and every little detail has been thought of. Here are some things that stand out to me in particular:

#1 - It Was Thoughtfully Designed

Kim, Hyla Brook Estate’s owner, has 20+ years of wedding experience before building this venue, and it really shows! There was a ton of thought and detail put into this venue to make sure every event is perfect.

For example, it has a covered outdoor ceremony space, so you can have your ceremony outside even if it rains! There are actually multiple outdoor spaces, both for your ceremony and cocktail hour, that are all covered. This is soo helpful for weddings in New Hampshire as the weather can be pretty unpredictable!

They even built a beautiful farmer's porch that welcomes guests as they arrive – they can relax for a moment in a rocking chair before your ceremony.

Kim selected white for all the walls throughout the venue, which makes for bright and clean-looking photos. She also added a room for vendors to safely put away their items or have a quick snack.

In addition to the ceremony and reception areas, Kim also designed two getting-ready spaces, which makes it so easy for everyone to get ready right on site! One space features lounge seating, a TV, and a coffee bar, and the other area features a hair and makeup bar, lounge seating, and a coffee area/kitchenette. Plus other thoughtful touches like hooks for your attire, tons of natural light (great for photos!), full-length mirrors, and full bathrooms. Your rental includes 15 hours at the venue, so you can arrive as early as you’d like to get ready!

The Location & The Aesthetic

Hyla Brook Estate is located in Derry, New Hampshire, which is a pretty central location in New England. It’s not too far of a drive from the Boston area or other parts of NH, so no matter where you and your guests are coming from, it’s pretty easy to get to!

And while the building’s structure is a barn, Hyla Brook is FAR from your typical rustic barn feel. Kim describes their aesthetic as Magnolia Home meets Pottery Barn. It’s truly elegant with a classic farmhouse feel.

The space was intentionally designed to be a blank canvas for your wedding’s design – you can really make it anything you want it to be!

The main reception space features banquet tables and beautiful cross-back chairs. It can seat up to 180 guests, and is air conditioned, so the space is perfect in any season.

They Make Your Planning Process Easy

When you’re first starting in your planning, it can be really hard to get a grasp on what a venue costs, what’s included in your rental, and any other important details you need to know unless you inquire with them. Especially if you aren’t working with a planner.

In contrast, Kim included TONS of helpful details on their website to make your process as easy as possible. There’s even an investment calculator to help you compare different dates, wedding sizes, and more! They have completely transparent pricing on their website, which can be hard to come by sometimes.

They also list all of their available dates on their website – you can simply look through the list, choose your top three dates, and then inquire to discuss your options from there.

One more great feature of this venue is their HUGE assortment of rentals. Their collection goes way beyond table linens and flatware! They have almost every piece of decor you could need, and even the most detailed things like a selection of card boxes, easels for your signage, and even picture frames. This makes things so much easier for you as you’re planning!

A Real Hyla Brook Estate Wedding

I’m sure you’re hooked by now, but in case you need any more reasons to fall in love with Hyla Brook Estate just as I have, here are some details from a wedding I photographed there recently!

Alexis and Drew opted not to have a set “wedding party,” and instead, they got ready with their closest friends and took some photos together. I loved this because no one was required to buy matching dresses or stand during the ceremony, but they still got to enjoy the love and support of their friends! I also loved how this looked in group photos.

A Little Romantic Rain

It did rain during their day, so we opted to do their first look on the covered farmer’s porch to protect them from the rain. They had their ceremony on the covered patio, so everyone got to experience the outdoors without getting wet or needing umbrellas.

Alexis and Drew were up for going out in the rain with umbrellas for photos later, though, which made for the most fun portraits of them!

Martha Stewart Weddings Inspired Decor

Their decor was absolutely INCREDIBLE. They had bright spring colors with citrus fruits for centerpieces, and beautiful blue candles. It was very Martha Stewart-inspired and just gorgeous!

And finally, they ended the night with an affogato bar (espresso with ice cream!) and, of course, tons of dancing.
