As a New Hampshire wedding photographer, I always want to make my couples’ experiences feel as easy and enjoyable as possible. Wedding planning can be a lot! So today I thought I’d share some of my favorite wedding photography advice to help you feel more at ease and excited about your wedding.
Wedding Photography Advice – What Your Photographer Wants You To Know
1 – Every Wedding Is Beautiful
This one is really important to me, so I’ll start here! I have never once photographed a wedding and thought it wasn't special enough, fancy enough, or anything enough. Every single wedding is beautiful to me, and I mean that wholeheartedly. Whether you're having a backyard celebration or a formal ballroom affair, I am just genuinely happy to be there capturing your day! :)
Please don't spend a single second worrying about whether your wedding is "enough," because it absolutely is.
2 – Your Timeline Matters More Than You Might Think
When you’re planning out your wedding day timeline, keep in mind that this is something to definitely put some thought into. A rushed timeline can often lead to rushed photos, and that's something I always want to help my couples avoid. When we work together, I'll help you build a timeline that gives every moment of your day enough time, including a little buffer for the moments that run behind schedule. (Which is totally normal, by the way, and exactly why I always plan for it! 😄)
The more intentional your timeline is, the more relaxed you’ll feel, and your photos will reflect that.
3 – You Don't Need to Perform for the Camera
This is one of the most common things couples worry about, and it’s something I always try to reassure couples about. There’s no need to worry about performing for the camera! You don't need to pose perfectly or be "good" at photos. Just be present with eachother and soak in each moment as it happens.
I will guide you when you need direction, and will be there to capture all of the in-between moments, too.
4 – Relax, Have Fun, and Stay Present
This one might seem easier said than done, but truly, try to live in the moment on your wedding day! Everything will all come together, and even if there is something that doesn’t go exactly as planned, it will still be the best day imaginable.
So even more important than any of the details, try to relax, have fun, and be present in the moment. Plus, this will make for extremely joyful, beautiful images of your day!
