I’m so thrilled to be sharing Nikki and Ryan’s fall engagement photos today! I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know them for some time now. My husband Jevin and I first photographed their proposal on Mount Willard last year, and I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding in Connecticut this October! They are such a sweet couple, and I’m so excited for them.

Fall Engagement Photos in The White Mountains
For their fall engagement session, we headed to another location in the White Mountains, similar to their proposal! I loved that they had an October (2023) engagement session, and are having an October (2024) wedding. It’s a nice way to signify this special chapter in their lives.
We were sooo lucky with the foliage for their session. The fall colors were really showing off! I especially love how the foliage was contrasting with the white birch trees this time of year and we got some great shots with this as the background.
We opted to do the Lincoln Woods trailhead, which has a lot of variety in terms of scenery. We swung by the cabin that’s there for some cozy porch photos, walked through the forest, and got lots of great photos on the suspension bridge overlooking the Pemi.
My family and I spend a TON of time in the White Mountains, so I love being able to share my favorite local gems with my couples 😊
What to Wear for Fall Engagement Photos
Nikki and Ryan totally nailed it with their outfits for their engagement photos - they looked so great!! They told me that they followed my what-to-wear guide that I share with all of my couples, and the photos came out incredible! A few of the tips from the guide that they followed were:
Bring Multiple Outfits
They did an outfit change so that we could have a really nice variety of images. This is a great way to get some different looks out of your session!
Incorporate Texture
Adding textures that bring the cozy factor, especially for fall and winter sessions, makes for really special photos. They wore sweaters, and Nikki brought a gorgeous green velvet dress that really complimented the colors of the leaves!
Match Your Outfit to the Location + Season
They did this one especially well. I thought all of their outfits were a perfect marriage with the White Mountain fall scenery.
