If you’re looking for ways to make your wedding a little less than cookie-cutter, then this post is for you! As a New Hampshire wedding photographer, I’ve been fortunate to be a part of SO many beautiful celebrations. And I’ve had some amazing couples who planned super cool weddings! So I decided to round up all of my favorite unique wedding ideas that I’ve seen.

13 Unique Wedding Ideas for Your New Hampshire Wedding

1 Exchange Your Vows Privately

I love it when couples choose to exchange their vows privately because it allows you to share a private and romantic moment before the day gets really crazy. Plus, if you’re anxious about speaking a lot in front of a group at your ceremony, this is a great option! Exchanging your vows privately also allows for a unique moment during your day because we can go to a different location than your ceremony site if you want to. You can get some more variety out of your photos this way!

2 Have a Food Truck

Food trucks ALWAYS make a party fun! We have so many delicious options to choose from here in New Hampshire/New England too. Your guests will definitely thank you!

3 Include Your Pet

If you’re like me and consider your pet a part of the family, then you might want to include them in your wedding day! I’ve seen couples have a trusted neighbor or friend take care of running the pet home when it’s not an option to keep them on-site the whole day.

4 Dried Flower Bar for Loved Ones Who Have Passed

There are many ways you can honor loved ones on your wedding day who have passed away. Often times people will have a special table with photos, but a dried flower bar is a really unique alternative!

5 Bubble Exit

We’ve all seen the sparkler exit, but a bubble exit is super fun!! And some venues have strict policies on sparklers now, so bubbles are a really cute way to have a fun exit without worrying!

6 Grow Your Own Wedding Flowers

This one of course takes some planning ahead, but home-grown flowers sure make a wedding really special!

For this fall wedding, the father of the bride grew all of the centerpiece and decor flowers and they were STUNNING.

7 Give Guests Personalized Notes at Their Place Settings

One of my couples recently did this, and I really loved this idea. What an amazing way to make your guests feel truly loved!

8 Have an Audio Guestbook

A really cool new concept that I’ve seen recently is audio guestbooks. Companies like After The Tone will send you a vintage phone that guests can actually pick up and leave you a message instead of signing a traditional guestbook. Guests absolutely love it, and it’s amazing to be able to listen to the recordings later after your wedding!

9 Serve Pizza for Dinner

Need I say more!? Not only will your wedding be a huge hit with your guests (who doesn’t love pizza?!), but this is a pretty affordable way to feed your whole group too.

10 Have a Wedding Newspaper

This idea is cuuute. And a really unique piece of day-of stationery for your guests!

11 Reception Transformation

Doing a reception transformation is a really fun way to surprise your guests! I’ve seen brides change dresses (which can be especially dramatic when going from a full gown to a fun party dress) or even go all out with a haircut during the reception!

12 Mix & Match Bridesmaid Dresses

If you’re looking for something a little outside the box but still want to have a cohesive bridal party look, then mix-and-match dresses are a cute and unique twist!

13 Have a Live Artist

There are so many different avenues you can take with this idea - from classic fine art painting to caricatures! I love the idea of creating art from your day.
